and. studio manager Jo Cartlidge recently attended a press pass in Düsseldorf where printing is underway for the forthcoming FIPP09 World Magazine Congress materials. and. were asked, working with the PrintCity Alliance, to look at concepts and designs for innovative ways of showcasing value added print techniques to be applied to the conference programme to be published later this month. Baker Tilly Online Award

As you will read below, Baker Tilly's online accounting service 'Revas' has been awarded a prestigious internet excellence award by Accountancy Age. The Revas site was originally designed and developed by AND in 2007 and has been upgraded and enhanced as new services have been added. To view the site please visit www.revas.co.uk.

and. win PPA Pitch

Following a three way creative pitch, and. have been appointed to create a new logo and brand identity for the Periodical Publishing Association. PPA is the association for publishers and providers of consumer, customer and business media in the UK. PPA's role is to promote and protect the interests of the industry in general, and member companies in particular. and. look forward to working on the implementation and development of this new identity which will be revealed over the next few weeks.

and. were very pleased to be a sponsor at the PPA Publishing Production Awards 2008 which were held on Thursday November 13th at the Millennium Mayfair Hotel.  A very lively evening hosted by the PPA and compered by Dr Phil Hammond, TV doctor and columnist, celebrated achievement across the publishing industry. Justin Anderson, Managing Director of AND was invited to present the award to Comag Forward as magazine finishing/distribution company of the year.

and. speak at the ISC Marketing Conference

On 5 November and. took one of the keynote sessions at the Independent Schools Council Marketing Conference 2008. The newest conference to be launched by ISC, Marketing 2008 focussed on the importance of improving and adapting marketing activity in the light of the many economic, social and technological changes faced by independent school marketers.

Topics covered included corporate rebranding, using the internet as a marketing tool, whole-school marketing and the importance of market segmentation in a recession, as well as groundbreaking, exclusive new research.

The and. session "Better Branding: A Phantom Rebrand" looked at the rebranding of an imaginary school. The session took the delegates through the footsteps of the redesign process, looking at the importance of good branding, the messages communicated by different styles, the clarity required from a client brief and how to successfully implement a rebrand online, offline and in printed media. We received many positive comments from the floor and after the event which was attended by more than 250 representatives from schools around the country.

Our clients are constantly looking for new ways to keep their audiences informed online. Our challenge is to ensure the design solution we put in place separates itself from the hundreds of junk emails we all receive daily.

The FTSE group approached us after seeing our work for August Equity and invited us to pitch for their online newsletter earlier this month which we are very pleased to have won. Our brief is to name, design, edit and produce this online newsletter for launch next month, and then produce the further issues bi-monthly.

We aim to develop a professional but friendly user experience that starts with an eDigest that is emailed to the user acting as a concise but engaging overview of the current issue. On clicking through, the user will be taken to an interactive microsite that will display the full FTSE news, opinions and events listings.
